This morning I travelled out to Millbrook, only a ten minute drive from the ClayMotion studio, to workshop a mums and bubs session with Mums from the Gordon Playgroup at the Millbrook Community Hall.
The community hall was once a primary school established in 1877, I guess during the prosperous gold rush era. The grounds also boasted a time capsule, marked by a stone and plaque, due to be opened in 2035 (I think, off memory). I wish I had taken a photo!
Mums made a plate which they decorated with coloured slip and decorative stamps…. plus baby handprints or footprints – a great and treasured lasting memento! There was even a grandmother participating who created a plate with her grandchildren’s prints.
Everyone had a great time with the group deciding they would have future sessions where we would make different clay mementos.
Mums and bubs sessions can be conducted from my studio or where your mothers group meets on any day of the week that doesn’t clash with my studio classes – simply contact me to discuss your needs 🙂
And finally, here are some photos from the session 🙂

Adults Pottery Classes in Ballarat
Well that was a whirlwind week for week one of term four – I can’t believe it is almost the end of the year!!
Anyway, here is what students got up to for the first week of making: pinch pots, coil pots and glazing!
And remember that childrens classes start this week too – tell your friends 🙂
I’m a bit slow with this weeks school holiday workshop update – that is because my NBN has been down since last Thursday!! I was doing minimal stuff thinking it would be resolved by now – but NO! So I am now chewing up my mobile hotspot coverage (yes I will be demanding compensation) to share the FAB plates & bowls made during the workshop 🙂
And, remember adults classes start this week, and there are a few vacancies available – so visit the SHOP and enrol 🙂
Term Three is Underway – Pottery in Ballarat
Well term three is underway, after a snowy start to the term, with adults classes beginning last week and children’s classes stating this week.
Just a reminder that mid term enrolments are welcome – you will only be charged for the number of weeks left in the term 🙂
Here is a collage of whats happened so far this term….
And some pics of finished student works from last term….
Wednesday mornings school holiday class was a great success with seven happy children making presents for dad. We made pencil holders and coin dishes which were painted with coloured clips. They are now drying before being loaded into the kiln and a clear shiny glaze being applied.
There is another workshop this coming Wednesday 6th July in the afternoon from 2-4pm and again we will be making gifts for dad, grandpa, an uncle or a family friend, whatever dad is special in your life. We will be making a coffee mug and a key/coin dish, so jump on the website, visit the shop and enrol online or call me on 0438382522
Here’s some pics from last Wednesdays class 🙂
Term two is over for children’s classes and there is one more week left for adults classes – that sure went fast!
It was a great term with students being so patient with the delays of the kilns being connected after the studio renovations – which you can read about HERE. Thankyou students 🙂
The CLASSES page has been updated for term three, and the SCHOOL HOLIDAY PROGRAM page is updated for this coming holidays, and you can enrol easily via the SHOP.
This school holidays classes are all about Fathers Day which is on September 4th this year. Make dad, grandpa or an uncle a mug and key chain or a pencil holder and coin dish…. both classes are different, so the kids can join in both.
Meanwhile, here are a few photo collages from during term two children’s classes to tempt you!
Have a great week 🙂
Term two is a long term – eleven weeks – after a short term one due to Easter, but we have just finished week three: where did that time go?
The weather so fr has been great, with a gorgeous Autumn and mild calm weather – until the last few days…. it has started getting windy which can be typical for this time of year. But, never fear, the studio is toasty warm with the wood heater in full swing.
Remember that mid term enrolments are welcome with fees being calculated based on how many weeks are left in term. Can’t commit to an entire term? Casual rates are available with your choice of three classes to attend.
And to inspire you check out some of the creations so far this term 🙂
Happy Easter Everyone!!
Term One has come to an end, but for children there are still fun opportunities over the school break with two workshops being held on each Wednesday of the holidays – in both classes we are making Mothers Day gifts. these gifts will make great pressies for mums, nanas, aunts, sisters, even the neighbour across the road!
These classes will be lots of fun … check the SCHOOL HOLIDAY PROGRAM page for all the details.
But, of course, there was lots of great work made by the children during term one…. check out some of the posts about term one HERE.
Meanwhile here are some finished works by the children during term one … enjoy!
