Ever wanted to make your own masterpiece in resin and weren’t sure where to start?
Maggie will guide you through the process in this hands-on beginners Resin Art Workshop. You’ll design and create a 45 round artwork. You can either hang your artwork or use it as a side table (table parts included).Resin will be provided along with an abundance of colours to create a piece of art you’ll be proud to have in your home.
What is resin art? Resin is a two-part product used for many different works of art & there are many types of resins available. The epoxy resin Maggie uses is equivalent to 50 coats of varnish, low odour & adaptable to many different pigments or colour additives. It’s also made in Melbourne and the most versatile resin she’s found in application.
The art of working with resin is reasonably technical at first and you need to have a fast approach during application. Once you have played around with resin it is very hard not to become addicted to this form of art.
In this 2 – 2.5 hour class, Maggie will demonstrate various beginners techniques, how to mix your resin for a successful creation, how to mix a variety of additives and pigments for colour and effects, how to use a heat gun and butane torch in your creative process and she will support and guide you to make an exciting and unique artwork. You will create on a primed rounded 45cm substrate, included in the workshop cost.
This class is designed for beginners. Students who have undertaken resin art before may find they need less time to complete their artworks.
